Roy Williams talks about how he discovered Michael Jordan for North Carolina. During my first year at North Carolina State University, I helped recruit James Worthy. In my second year, I helped recruit Sam Perkins. Then, in the third year, I became the first coach to admire Michael. Michael took part in our basketball camp. I called his high school coach to see if he wanted to bring Michael to camp. We got a report that it was pretty good. And on Sunday afternoon at camp I just fell in love with it.
I told Coach Smith and Eddie Vogler: You guys have never seen anything like this. I think I just saw the best 6-foot-1 high school player I`ve ever seen in my life, " former North Carolina State University coach Roy Williams said.
