World number one Novak Djokovic has applied for a special permit to enter the United States to compete at the Masters in Indian Wells and Miami. They will take place in March.


The Serbian is not vaccinated against coronavirus, and vaccination is required to enter the United States. This requirement will be lifted in May.


Unfortunately, this is out of our hands. Novak needs to get a special permit because the US still doesn`t allow unvaccinated foreigners into the country - which is incredible given the performances of unvaccinated athletes around the world.


There are still some details left to be worked out, but we hope for a positive outcome, " said Djokovic`s younger brother Djordje.
