Chelsea qualified for the 1/8 finals of the FA Cup after beating Luton Town 3-1 in a match from the fourth round of the competition. Tammy Abraham`s hat-trick (11 `;, 17 `;, 74 `) was the basis of this success, which was one of the must-sees for Frank Lampard. According to some English media, the manager of the Londoners has received an ultimatum to win the next three meetings after the loss to Leicester this week. The first of them was today`s match. This victory did not come in such a definite way, as Jordan Clark reduced to 1:2 in the 30th minute, when Kepa Arisabalaga intervened quite badly. However, the Chelsea guard rehabilitated and saved a dangerous blow in the second half. In the end, Timo Werner missed a penalty.

Lampard had made seven changes since the match with Leicester. Reese James, Christian Pulisic, Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount are the ones who kept their seats. The latter led the team with the captain`s armband. Billy Gilmore also got a chance, as did Kepa Arisabalaga, who stood in the doorway. Timo Werner is back among the starters. There were four adjustments in Luton`s squad compared to the meeting with Brentford. Ryan Tuninkliff, Jordan Clark, Cal Naismith, for whom this was his debut, and Glenn Ria started.

The start of the match was delayed by a few minutes due to the fact that the hosts had to clear the field as well as possible from the snow that falls in London. The hosts took the initiative from the very beginning and largely thought that they had decided things in their favor by the 17th minute. Tammy Abraham scored two goals. The striker first received from Werner and shot on the ground in the corner, and seven minutes later he caught a good cross by Reese James. At the first goal there were two balls on the field, but this went unnoticed by the refereeing team.

In the 28th minute Chelsea had a great opportunity for a third goal, but Sluga saved a shot by Pulisic, who was brought to a clear position.

In the 30th Luton organized a good attack. Bree centered very well to Clark, who shot low from eight meters. The ball was within Kepa`s reach, but he somehow missed it and it ended up in his net.

Pulisic and Abraham missed two more opportunities for the Blues until the break. In the 49th minute, Sluga kicked a shot close to Pulisic, and a few minutes later Mount fired over the door. In the 60th minute Kepa redeemed his mistake for the goal of the guests, after saving with one hand a solid shot of Kornik. In the 73rd minute, Abraham intercepted a header from Hudson-Odoi`s cross, but sent the ball away from the goal. Only a minute later, however, the combination between the two brought a hat trick to Abraham. The winger, who got very strong after replacing Pulisic, made another good break from the left, exchanged a double pass with Mount, then found Abraham, who intercepted in front of the goal line.

Four minutes before the end, Timo Werner had a chance to regain some of his self-confidence after taking a penalty for a foul against himself. However, the German failed to sign from the penalty spot, and his shot was saved. Werner remains with one goal in his last 17 games for the club according highlights soccer and national team.
